Role and key responsibilities
- Create compelling animations (Characters, creatures, Bosses and other assets)
meeting the high standard and style that has been set from our art dept.
- Exploring and creating is a part of your workweek life and you adopt new learnings as you go along.
- Collaborate with your animation team, artists, designers, programmers and
producers to further realize the vision of the team.
- Actively contribute and share your feedback with the team to help improve on the
animation pipeline and tools, document changes, and contributions.
- Mentor, train and inspire the animation and art department with your key experience.
- Plan, structure and drive the animation workload (team) and communicate status in a
clear and constructive way through channels established by the studio.
Skills and main qualifications
- Broad experience of different animation styles, both realistic and stylized. Any
experience within traditional animation is a plus.
- Experienced in the animation field and preferably a few years of experience as a senior animator or as a mentor to junior animators.
- Experience from creating 2D and/or 3D VFX is a big plus, as the senior animators will create VFX together with the technical artists.
- Good technical experience to push a character through the animation pipeline from model to game. Skinning, rigging, animation, export, import, state machine and control rig setup in engine.
- Experienced with optimizing animations for gameplay performance and requirements for the game.
- Expected to provide feedback on unclear direction or communication, make your
voice heard if information is unclear.
- Good experience and understanding of Unreal, Maya and the animation pipeline
between them is a must.
