If you deconstruct a game down to its smallest part, where does it take you? How can you use that knowledge to build new types of gameplay? Join industry veteran and renowned speaker Marie Mejerwall for a session where she dives deep to the very core of what makes gameplay. Marie will decontruct famous games live onstage into the very split second decisions that players are faced with. She'll then decode these into different categories and explain which types of games thrive with what kind of challenges - and how they can be layered to create complexity, difficulty and depth. Last but not least, she'll show you how to use this knowledge together with your imagination to craft new types of gameplay rather than lending inspiration from other games. This session is recommended attendance for those interested in joining her bossfight workshop the next day.
