The UX of Fortnite

Creating fun and engaging video games is a challenging endeavor, especially with thousands of games released each year, making the competition fierce. While there is no definitive recipe for crafting successful games, certain key ingredients can help developers formulate their own successful approach. By combining user experience (UX) principles with insights from cognitive science, developers can access these essential ingredients—applicable across all types of games, platforms, and target audiences—to guide them through the development process.

A game cannot be effectively marketed and published if it lacks quality from the outset. Therefore, establishing a solid UX strategy during the development phase is the first and most crucial step toward success.
