Information

Furcifer’s Fungeon is a loot-based dungeon crawler action roguelike. The game is influenced by several genres, with a bit of roguelike, RPG, bullet heaven, and side-scrolling Beat 'em up in there. In his own fantasy realm in hell, demon cat Furcifer has built a Fungeon. There, he challenges the visitors to make it to the end by overcoming the dangerous monsters and traps he has set up. The player levels rather often in fast-paced runs that cap around 30 minutes. With each level, the player chooses a talent from a large selection (currently 110, the full game aims at 300+) of talents with unique effects as well as flavor texts interacting with rather deep RPG-like stats. The talent pool is highly interconnected with branching trees and conditions such as a combination of other talents, required stats, or actions during the game. Additionally, the player collects magic items that have unique effects and also are used to shape the talent pool (Fire items leading to fire talents, etc.). Before a run, the player can choose a character with a unique dash and character-specific talents, two weapons that define the attack patterns, and two items from the collection. Each run, the dungeon is randomly generated and scrolls to the right through differently styled floors. At the end of the floor, a boss awaits the player. One of them is "Fire" from "Her Name Was Fire", who is unlocked as a playable character after beating her. After a run, the player can bring back items to their collection and take up to two of them into future runs. The game aims to be a combination of the accessible bullet heaven genre but offers high depth and large amounts of customization. Our demo currently has an average playtime of 3 hours and 24 minutes, which we are very proud of.
